UK-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua beat Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev in the ninth round of the world championship at the Wembley SSE Arena to retain his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles. Joshua Stuns Pulev To Keep The Heavyweight World Championship
This fight is Joshua’s first to recover his Andy Ruiz seatbelts in December 2019 in Saudi Arabia.
The two boxers were careful in the first two rounds with Joshua using over his blows.
Pulev has been unbeaten in his last eight battles since his defeat by KNOCKOUT in Wladimir Klitschko in 2014. The 39-year-old won 28 of its 29 previous ones with 14 in the form of knockout.
South African referee Deon Dwarte called off the fight after the 9th round.

Joshua’s victory paved the way for the eventual confrontation of British heavyweights against Tyson Fury in 2021.
Both fighters enter into battle with one defeat each. Joshua lost his only fight in a shocking defeat against Andy Ruiz in 2019, while Pulev’s only defeat was a fifth loss by knockout to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014.
British-born boxer of Nigerian origin, Lawrence Okoli, also won a second elimination win over Nikodem Jezewski to win the vacant WBO International cruiserweight title.
Okolie hit his opponent twice on the first round, forcing the referee to cancel the fight within a minute 1:45 after his second round of Jezewski’s knock-down.
Okolie is on track to claim the WBO title next year.
