Leaking Oil Pipeline Explodes In The Niger Delta, 50 Confirmed Missing.

The Associated Press has reported that on Saturday, there was an explosion in the Niger Delta in the southern part of Nigeria, the explosion was said to have been caused by a leaking oil pipeline. The explosion which was said to have rocked neighboring communities caused a stampede in the affected communities.

As a fallout to the explosion, the Nembe Chiefs Council spokesman, Chief Nengi James-Eriworio, has said that the blast which took place in the early hours of Friday has resulted in a massive oil spillage in the Nembe Kingdom in Bayelsa State, he therefore called on the relevant authorities to come to their aids as life would become very unbearable very soon if nothing is done because as it stands their waters and lands have become polluted because of Friday’s explosion.
