The North Central Peoples Forum (NCPF) declares that President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023 must come from the region.
They described the geopolitical zone as a focal point for unity and security since the civil war.

They noted that most of the leaders of the North Central served Nigeria with diligence.
The Forum noted that democracy is “the midwife of a North Central son, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.”
The organization said General Ibrahim Babangida “was able to move Nigeria’s capital from Lagos to the north-central region, which is part of the north.”
“Yakubu Gowon sacrificed himself to reunite Nigeria in one nation. These three people come from the North Central and we want to make sure their work is not in vain.”
The NCPF stated that “the area needs development and is ready to continue this with the federal government, with the cooperation of our governors regardless of our political affiliations.”
